Meet the Team
Becks Rossiter is the latest in a long line of 'landlords' and managers who have had the honour of being guardians of this beautiful site.
Arriving from Australia to live in the UK over 6 years ago, Becks has a 26 yr background in a variety of hospitality businesses - from catering & restauration to managing a local organic farm shop for the past 2 and a half years . Most recent position in the pub trade was as the manager at the award winning Pear Tree at Whitley some 3 yrs back. On first arriving in the UK, she headed up the team at a typical cosy village pub with restaurant close to Andover in Hampshire, where she ran the kitchen as well as overseeing the customer welcome. Tucked under her arm is Badger, a well travelled Jack Russell who came from Australia as well and will add to the welcome in the bar some evenings.
Becks is well supported at The George by assistant manager, Joe Faint, who has a strong background in accommodation sites and countryhouse hotels & function centres in the Midlands. He started his time with Wadworths as assistant manager at The Hophouse in Clifton before recently deciding to join the team at Norton St Philip. Heading the kitchen team is Timothy Bean, who has been here for some time with previous managers cooking good honest pub fare, and out front and behind the scenes are a loyal team of staff who hail from the area and know the Inn well.
All of the team at The George Inn look forward to welcoming you to this fabulous place full of history. Whether it be to enjoy a drink by a blazing log fire, watch the cricket on the Mead in summer from our beer garden or settle into a 4-poster room for a romantic getaway - we hope that you will indulge in a little bit of the magic that is The George.
