Meet the Team

Becks Rossiter is the newest in a long line of 'landlords' and managers who have had the honour of being guardians of this beautiful site.
Arriving  from Australia to live in the UK some 6 years ago, Becks has a 25 yr background in a variety of hospitality businesses - from catering & restauration to managing a local organic farm shop for the past 2 and a half years . Most recent work in the pub trade was as the manager at award winning The Pear Tree, Whitley some 3 yrs back. On first arriving in the UK, she headed up the team at a typical village pub close to Andover in Hampshire, where she ran the kitchen as well as overseeing the customer welcome. Tucked under her arm is Badger, a well travelled Jack Russell who will add to the welcome in the bar some evenings.
Becks is joined in the team at The George by Rob Wilsher, her Assistant Manager, by Timothy Bean - heading the kitchen team, and by a loyal team of staff who hail from the area and know the Inn well.
All of the team at The George Inn look forward to welcoming you to this fabulous place full of history. Whether it be to enjoy a drink by a blazing log fire, watch the cricket on the Mead in summer from our beer garden or settle into a 4-poster room for a romantic getaway - we hope that you will indulge in a little bit of the magic that is The George.
